Set on the vast savannahs of Africa and inspired by the music, language, and art of African culture, The Lion King tells the story of Simba, a lion born into a loving family. His father, Mufasa, teaches him about life and leadership. However, when the evil lion Scar orchestrates a betrayal and seizes power, Simba is forced to flee and start a new life with his comical companions, Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog. Along the way, Simba falls in love with Nala, a lioness who supports him and encourages him to reclaim his rightful place and restore justice.
